On one of the winter nights back in Tokyo, our friends took us out to a great dinner at Uosou Tsukiji.

We started with a couple appetizers, the ikura below was really tasty!

Then we started with the fish dishes.

The sashimi and sushi were both really fresh!

And because we are staying away from meat, we had a fish nabe with tofu, mushrooms, and veggies that warmed us up nicely.

Nabe with ponzu dipping sauce, my favorite!

On our way to fishing at Okutama, we had a breakfast of sushi while waiting to transfer trains. Our friends picked up a nice assortment of inarizushi…

As well as shiitake and unagi makizushi. So good!

And now, time for fishing!
After walking around Tsukiji Fish Market it was time for some breakfast! We decided on a quick bite at a nearby shop called Tsukiji Sushi Sen.
We tried out menu items like the chiraishi in the top photo. An ikura and uni don that wasn’t on the menu (we just asked the chef if he could make it), and some assorted sushi.
What a great way to start the morning!
